The "Indestructible Brotherhood-2015" military exercise for the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces held at the Baghramyan Polygon in Yerevan demonstrated the high training ratio of the officers of the CSTO member-countries. Vladimir Alesin, Kazakhstan's plenipotentiary at the CSTO told ArmInfo.
"I think the exercises were held on a scheduled basis. Armenia's General Staff developed an interesting scenario for the peacekeepers," he said. Hailing the coordinated actions and the skills of the peacekeepers, Alesin said the CSTO should achieve a very high level of coordinated actions of its units for crisis situations and other emergencies.
Denis Tikhomirov, UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (headquarters on New York) in turn, said the exercises were unique as representatives of the UN were involved in them.
"As representative of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations I am very pleased to follow the exercises. We will, sure, continue our cooperation with the CSTO under the memorandum signed between the relevant organizations in 2014," he said.
Viktor Kuzmin, Commander of the Peacekeeping Squadron of Belarus, said it is the third military exercises he participated in. He said that the exercises are becoming richer and more interesting with every year.
To note, "Indestructible Brotherhood 2015" military exercises of CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces were conducted in Armenia's "Baghramyan" military training center from September 30 to October 4. About 500 pieces of military hardware and 600 servicemen are involved in the drills.
