GNC-Alpha Company providing telecommunications services in Armenia under brand Rostelecom has joined the world's largest Internet Exchanges De-CIX (Frankfurt) and MSK-IX (Moscow).
The company's press-office told ArmInfo they connect to MSK-IX through FOBNET's (Fiber-Optic Telecommunication Network - based in Georgia) undersea cable Poti-Novorossiysk and Rostelecom's network in the territory of Russia. To connect DE-CIX, the company uses the Georgia-based Caucasus Online and undersea cable Poti-Varna and the networks of a range of leading European operators.
The company has invested in two independent international fiber links thus making its networks geographically and technically independent.
Actually, Rostelecom's network is directly connected to the resources of France Telecom, TeliaSonera, Telenor, Deutsche Telekom AG and others, as well as with such content providing companies as Google, Facebook, e-Bay, Apple and others.
