New Armenia Front will launched protests that will continue until the power is changed in the country, Zhirayr sefilyan, the head of New Armenia headquarters, told reporters on Nov 26.
He assured media that an action plan and strategy have been developed. The people will unite on December 1 to achieve the desirable result. "We will be careful so that the people do not experience persecutions again. It is noteworthy that the citizens are not afraid of that criminal regime," the politician said. Sefilyan did not rule out that arrests and pressing of opponents of the Constitutional amendments will start ahead of the rally. "Everything is possible, but it is evident that the KGB-style government remained in the past," he said.
To recall, the constitutional referendum in Armenia is scheduled for December 6. The campaign headquarters of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia is headed by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, while the heads of the headquarters of the "No!" Front and the New Armenia Front are Levon Zurabyan and Zhirayr Sefilyan, respectively. The latter announced a decision to launch the process of power shift on December 1. "If the authorities try to use force, they will get an adequate response," Sefilyan said.
