European Parliament's Resolution on the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide is an important message to Turkey. The resolutions calls on Turkey to face its own history, recognize historical facts and pave way to reconciliation of the two peoples. The remarks came from Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian at the meeting of the EU Ministers and Eastern Partnership countries in Luxembourg.
In his speech, Nalbandian touched upon the Nagorny Karabakh peace process: "Armenia is sure that peaceful resolution of conflict in the European region is of prior importance. Armenia will continue the efforts towards peaceful resolution of the conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group," he said.
The minister made a point of reconsidering the European neighborhood process, as Armenia believes it possible to combine various integration processes and develop cooperation with various organizations. Nalbandian said the joint committee for visa facilitation and readmission will meet in Brussels on April 29. "We hope a dialogue will be launched for visa liberation following the meeting," the minister said.
