Irresolvable conflicts like the Karabakh one should not 'be troubled,' Yevgeny Satanovsky, President of the Independent Scientific Center "Middle East Institute" told ArmInfo.
"I don't know and nobody knows how fragile is the ice on the frozen Karabakh conflict. However, I still hope that the conflict will not be unfrozen, as I cannot understand how
Azerbaijan will recognize Karabakh. Neither I can understand how Karabakh will agree to become part of Azerbaijan," the analyst said. According to Satanosvky, a big tragedy, a kind of land division happened in Karabakh. In this light, he hopes the conflict will be settled in 100, 200 or 300 years.
Assessing the arms race between Armenia and Azerbaijan with participation of arms traders from Russia, Satanovsky asked: "What do you expect from our businessmen? Do you want them to be better, franker, fairer and wiser than whom?"
"Unfortunately, I stopped trusting our Western partners by 100%. They say I love America and the people of America, but I don't trust American politicians, as I know how everything is made there. No one should be trust in this world. I say it frankly, I don't trust even insiders," Satanovsky said commenting on the views of his colleagues saying that the OSCE Minsk Group is the only format where Russia and the West represented by the U.S., France find a common language.
