Georgian Military Died in Afghanistan

Tbilisi. Georgian military man, who was wounded during the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan, died in the military hospital in Gori town (Shida Kartli region), the Defence Ministry of Georgia reported.

                The defence department expresses condolences to the family of the killed military and sympathizes with the family members over his death. According to the Mass Media information, the body of the military man has been passed to his family.

                Corporal Givi Pantsulaya (born in 1984) was wounded in Afghan province Helmand in January 2012 during the Taliban's attack. One more Georgian Corporal Shalva Pailodze died during the attack.

                American military doctors rendered aid to wounded Givi Pantsulaya on the ground and later he was transported to the military hospital on Germany. The military's central cerebrospinal system was damaged and he was on coma during that period of time.

                After March 3, on the Defence Ministry's decision the Corporal was transported to Gori military hospital for further treatment, but despite the physician's efforts, Givi  Pantsulaya died.

                Givi Pantsulaya served in the 31st battalion of the 3rd Infantry Brigade of the Defence Ministry of Georgia.  He is the 17th Georgian  military, who died in Afghanistan.
