Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing on December 24 the talks between the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Bern made no breakthrough in the Karabakh peace process, but were a good opportunity for the two presidents to have a vis-a-vis talk.
She said the sides reaffirmed their commitment to the peace process in the Minsk Group format.
"Russia welcomes the high-level political dialogue for exclusively peaceful, political and diplomatic resolution of the conflict," he said.
As before, Russia will be taking independent efforts to help the sides achieve a consensus on the basis of the approaches agreed with the OSCE MG co-chairs, Zakaharova said.
Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Bern on December 19 under the aegis of the OSCE MG.
