The deployment of "Islander" complexes on the Armenian territory should be considered a real menace, not a real opportunity, military expert Stephen Blank, the senior analyst at U.S. Foreign Policy Council, believes.
Although minister of Defence of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan has denied the rumours on spending the Russian 200-mln-USD loan to purchase "Iskander" complexes, the media keeps spreading the aforementioned information.
By spreading such information, the expert says, Moscow seems to be trying to strengthen its position in South Caucasus.
Nevertheless, Blank does believe that the realization of this threat will endanger the whole South Caucasus given the fact that these complexes might comprise both winged and ballistic missiles.
Everything, he told the Voice of America, depends on who will run the complexes - the Russians or someone else.
