The Karabakh conflict will be discussed in a more dynamic form and will find a solution, says Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijani President's aide for Public and Political Affairs.
Trend quotes Hasanov as saying that Azerbaijan is an integral part of international relations, an actor of global politics and that there are certain requirements of the UN Charter and Security Council it should observe. Hasanov notes that such conflicts should be resolved with due regard for the international law standards.
"At the same time, there are four UN resolutions, under which the troops should be withdrawn from the occupied Azeri territories. Nothing of the kind is being implemented," he says.
When speaking of the April developments, Hasanov notes that all international organizations called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to cease the fire.
"Azerbaijan had to suspend the war and the key role here belonged to Russian President Vladimir Putin. As a part of the international law, Azerbaijan has to observe the international legal standards and the requirements of the international community. The processes in Vienna demonstrated that Azerbaijan spoke to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries in a more demanding way. Azerbaijan has the right to do it. The Armenian side researched the will of the others. It demonstrated a stand seeking to maintain the status quo by delaying the negotiations through various methods," he says.
Hasanov notes that the OSCE MG co-chair countries think the status quo cannot last long. The conflict will be discussed in a more dynamic form and will find its solution, he says, adding that the co-chair countries should exert pressure on Armenia and make it show a serious attitude to the peace talks.
