In future the Eurasian Economic Union will have a single currency, this being the highest form of economic integration, Head of Alternative Research Center Tatul Manaseryan told journalists, when asked to comment on the consequences of Armenia's accession to the Union.
"Of course, single currency implies partial loss of economic independence. This time will not come soon though and until then Armenian dram will go through serious testing," Manaseryan said. He thinks that the Central Bank's monetary policy has been quite effective in the last years and has helped the country to avoid serious shocks.
"It is hard to say what will happen in future. Much here will depend on whether our monetary policy will be in line with fiscal policies of the other member states," Manaseryan said.
