Acting CEO of South Caucasus Railway (SCR) CJSC Sergey Valko summed up the company's activity results for June 2014.
At today's meeting he said that in June the negative freight dynamics continued and did not allow the company to complete the first half year 2014 with a positive result. According to him, in June the cargo transportation dropped by 2.8%. In the meantime, he said that some indices have improved. For instance, detention of transit cars fell by 35% as compared with June 2013 and made up 2.7 hours. The average daily productivity and the average daily locomotive run increased by 2% and 1.8%, respectively.
Sergey Valko stressed the need to balance the revenues and expenditures of the SCR budget, fulfill the traffic schedule, enhance the traffic safety, and increase the cargo transportation by rail.
SCR CJSC is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Railway OJSC and the concessional manager of Armenian Railway CJSC under an agreement signed on 13 Feb 2008. The agreement was signed for 30 years and may be prolonged for 10 more years.
