Lifting of the West's sanction on Iran opens new opportunities for the development of the Armenian-Iranian bilateral relations, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, told a news conference on February 2.
The minister is sure that Iran's nuclear deal was one of the biggest achievements of 2015 in the international diplomacy. He believes that it will be possible to implement the projects that were impeded by the sanctions.
Edward Nalbandian said that Iran is a friendly country where the Armenian cultural heritage is preserved and restored.
"Armenia seeks enhancement of the cooperation with Iran in all possible fields, as there is enough capacities for it," he said. As for Iran's intention to mediate the Nagorny Karabakh peace process, Nalbandian said the peace process makes no progress As Azerbaijan lacks political will, not because of 'bad' mediators.
"We are sure that Iran is interested in sooner resolution of the Karabakh conflict. We hail Iran's weighted stand on the issue," Nalbandian said.
