Tajikistan's Ministry of Transport denies information that An-12, which had crashed in South Sudan, belonged to a Tajik Airline Company.
"Earlier this plane was on the list of the private Tajik Air Line Company "Asia Airways", which mainly transported cargos. According to the signed agreement an Armenian airline holds all the responsibility for the flight worthiness", Yusuf Rahmonov, the head of the Civil Aviation Department at the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan said.
At the same time Asia Airways director Narzikul Hamroyev stated that the company has no relation to the crashed plane. "Neither Tajikistan nor our company has any connection to this plane, neither to its operation, nor to cargo transportations, carried by the plane. The crashed transport plane was at the disposal of the Armenian Air Line Company "Ala International Ltd" and a Sudan company", Hamroyev noted.
Meanwhile, the press-service of the General Department of the Civil Aviation of Armenia reported that the crashed An-12 is not registered in Armenia. It was noted that the plane was under operation of Tajik airline company Asia Airways.
To note, according to preliminary data, around 40 people had been killed at a result of the cargo plane crash.
