The Investigation Committee of Armenia has appointed a physiological and forensic psychiatric expert examination of Valery Permyakov, who is being accused for Avetisyans family murder in Gyumri. In the next few days, Armenian specialists will arrive in Gyumri for conducting comprehensive expert examination.
Russian Federation has transferred all the materials of the criminal case related to the cruel murder of the family in Gyumri to the Armenian side. The parties to the case have received as many materials for examination as it is possible at the current stage in line with the Code of Criminal Procedure. Valery Permyakov, a soldier of 102nd Russian military base who is being accused in a murder of Avetisyans family in Gyumri, has been appointed a DNA testing and forensic psychiatric expert examination in the terms of an introductory investigation of the case.
To recall, a family of six was killed by Russian soldier Valery Permyakov in Gyumri on Jan 12. The only survivor, six-month- old Seryozha Avetisyan, who received stab wounds, died in hospital on Jan 19. Permyakov was apprehended by the Russian border guards near the Armenian-Turkish border on the same night, and he was arrested on January 14. The garrison court of the 102nd Russian military base in Armenia has ruled to arrest Valery Permyakov for 10 years of service in high-security prison on charges of killing more than two people and desertion on August 12. Permyakov was filed a charge of deeds envisaged by three Articles of the RF Criminal Code. That is abandonment of post carrying a weapon, larceny of weapons and ammunition and illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, custody, transportation or carrying of weapons and ammunition. The case under Article "Murder" has been severed and transmitted to the Armenian side. The proceeding date hasn't been set yet.
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said after a meeting with Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov in Yerevan, on June 26 that the Permyakov case was transferred to Armenia.
