Some 41,770 births (22,200 boys and 19,570 girls) were registered in Armenia in 2013 (1.7% less than in 2012), with the birth rate having dropped by 0.2% to 13.8 per mille.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that some 27,165 deaths were registered in the country during the same period (1.6% less than in 2012), with the mortality rate having dropped by 0.1% to 9 per miller.
The child mortality rate made up 9.8 per mille against 10.8 per mille in 2012.
In 2013 there were 1.5 times more births than deaths in Armenia. As a result, natural population increase made up 4.8 per mille (14,605 people) against 4.9 per mille (14,819 people) in 2012.
The average age of Armenia's population is 36.2 years (the average age of the men is 34.5 years, that of the women is 37.8 years). Life expectancy in Armenia is 74.3 years (70.9 years among men and 77.5 years among women).
