National Security Service of Armenia reported on July 22 that two persons tied to the armed group that seized the Police Patrol Service Regiment in Yerevan were detained.
According to the source, under the criminal case on the detention of the armed group, the security officers detained a group of persons having criminal ties with the members of the armed group that supported them in the past and were preparing new crimes.
"Members of the armed group in the territory of the seized Police Patrol Guard Regimes directly contact their supporters at large and give orders to them," the National Security Service reports adding that one of the detainees was trying to access the seized building on July 21, while the other was trying to supply "Molotov cocktails" to the territory cordoned by the police on July 22.
The National Security Service warns that the persons planning to support the armed group have been identified and are in the focus of attention of the security forces. The Security Service urges citizens to be cautious in crowd and leave the area as soon as they notice any suspicions objects or people and inform the law-enforcers about it.
