The deployment of peacemakers is to be one of the points of the negotiations-based comprehensive settlement of the Karabakh conflict, James Warlick, American co- chair at OSCE Minsk Group, told at a July 20 press conference in Yerevan.
According to him, within the comprehensive settlement the sides are to reach an understanding on Artsakhi population's free exercise of choice, refugee's return and domestic migrants. "Besides, there should be real and stable security guarantees. This, in turn, envisages the deployment of peacemakers in the region", he emphasized.
The co-chair believes the sides not to be ready to discuss all the settlement details. He is also concerned over the low trust level between the conflicting sides. According to Warlick, the lack of trust is the factor that hinders the conflict settlement.
