Georgia is One of Least Corrupted Countries among Candidates to NATO

Tbilisi. According to results of the international research Eurobarometer, headed by TNS Opinion Associated Anthony Allen, Georgia is the least corrupted country among countries, claiming for membership in NATO, the Justice Ministry of Georgia reported at the end of last week.
"According to the research, 99% of Georgian citizens were not asked to pay a bribe in 2011. With this result Georgia ranks the 1st among the European countries", is said in the statement of the Justice Ministry. The research showed that number of Georgian citizens personally affected by corruption in their daily lives was 4 times lower than in Europe.
"Besides, 77 % of Georgian citizens, who were asked, considered that the government of the country made effective steps in combating corruption", the Ministry notes.
The Justice Ministry stresses that results of the research confirm high effectiveness of anti-corruption struggle in the country.
