"South Caucasus Railways" CJSC (UKZHD) is actively developing the cooperation with Federal Passenger Company, Viktor Rebets told ArmInfo journalist.
"In March 2015 we held a passengers' committee in Yerevan. Representatives of all CIS countries, as well as Baltic states participated in the event. Within the framework of the committee we signed an agreement on cooperation with Federal Passenger Company. We have already launched the project on train ticketing from any station to any other. Federal Passenger Company is engaged in the ticket sale. This is one of the cooperation aspects that we are implementing", he said. He has also added that this service is already popular with the Armenian population.
To note, in March 2015 UKZHD and Federal Passenger Company signed an agreement on public carriers in international traffic. The agreement envisages joint development of offers on changes and improvement of regulatory framework, cooperation on selling travel documents (including Online), etc.
UKZHD offers one and three-day tours from Armenia to Georgia and backwards. The offers include hotels with three meals and sightseeing. The price for the tour package is 65-70 USD per day. CJSC "South Caucasian Railway" is a 100% subsidiary of JSC "Russian Railways" and provides concession management of Armenian railroads. CJSC "Armenian Railways" was referred to the concession management to the company "SCR" according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of the concession management is 30 years with possible extension for another 10 years.
