The National Assembly of Armenia has rejected Zaruhi Postanjyan's bill "On recognition and condemnation of Ottoman Turkey's genocidal policy against Greeks, Assyrians, Yazidis and other national and religious minorities as a grave crime against humanity".
Only 6 MPs voted for, the rest of the MPs voted against Postanjyan's initiative. To note, a group of pro- power MPs has submitted a similar document, which, however, says nothing about the genocide against Yazidis. The pro-power MPs say that there are no historical documents confirming the genocide against Yazidis. To recall, following the Government's refusal to consider the specified bill of Zaruhi Postanjyan, the Yazidi community of Armenia issued a statement demanding that the pro-power parliamentarians' bill should include a provision about the Yazidi genocide as well.
