Armenian Prosecutor General's Office decided not to initiate a criminal investigation on the matter of beating of the owner of the Air Armenia Company Arsen Avetisyan.
In the disseminated statement, Prosecutor General's Office lists the circumstances of the incident, there is a report on the examination and inspection of the scene, the testimony of Arsen Avetisyan's wife, Isabella Melkumyan. There are presented evidences that Arsen Avetisyan has been beaten by Ruben Hayrapetyan and his guards, but Avetisyan could not specify who of the guard was beating. The message about the abduction has been refuted by Avetisyan, saying that he went there according to the agreement with Hayrapetyan, accompanied by the relatives. They also testified.
Ruben Hayrapetyan said that he was in good relations with Avetisyan. According to him, Arsen owed one of his relative and they asked Hayrapetyan to talk with Arsen Avetisyan and find out when he will return the debt. At the meeting of a month ago Avetisyan promised to return the money on August 15th. On that day he called him, and he wanted to meet. But the meeting, which was appointed at a cafe opposite the pool of the RA Football Federation turned into a showdown, during which he hit Avetisyan. Avetisyan started to nosebleed and he took him to the bathroom to wash. And then the guards saw off Avetisyan, says Hayrapetyan.
At the conclusion of the forensic specialist, Avetisyan suffered minor bodily harm. Given that information on the Avetisyan abduction was not confirmed, a criminal case is denied due to lack of evidence. At the same time the fact of violence by Hayrapetyan against Avetisyan is proven. However, considering that minor bodily harm was inflicted no complaint is received from Avetisyan, and the case also can not be instituted.
As earlier reported by ArmInfo, with reference to Avetisyan's wife Isabella Melkumyan, the Head of the Air Armenia airline Arsen Avetisyan, was taken away by force on August 16 and held captive in the Football Federation of Armenia. She told that the owner of the Taron Avia company Garnik Papikyan performing cargo transfer and seeking to obtain a license to carry out passenger transportation and whom Air Armenia owed to applied to the head of FFA Ruben Hayrapetyan with a request to assist in the return of the debt.
