In 2014 Yerevan Brandy Company is planning to procure 37,000 tons of grapes (2,000 tons or 6% more than in 2013).
The Aygavan branch (Ararat region) started procuring grapes on Sept 5, the Armavir branch (Armavir region) will start procurements on Sept 6, the Berd branch (Tavush region) will do it on Sept 15.
At Aygavan and Armavir the price is 150 AMD per 1 kg, at Berd it is 140 AMD against 145 AMD and 135 AMD, respectively, last year.
This year the company will continue procuring grapes from farmers under long-term contracts (almost 40% of the grapes will be procured under seven-year contracts).
At Armavir the company is planning to shortly start building a distillation workshop with three additional Charante distillation systems.
According the Agriculture Ministry of Armenia, at Aygavan the procurement process was started by Armenia's Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan and CEO of Yerevan Brandy Company Artak Barseghyan. Karapetyan said that this year Armenia has good grape harvest.
Yerevan Brandy Company is part of Pernod Ricard Group and is the biggest brandy producer and procurer in Armenia.
