Assistant Prosecutor General of Armenia Georgy Kutoyan will become the new head of the National Security Service (NSS), according to ArmInfo's source at the government.
Kutoyan has been appointed as assistant prosecutor general recently with the only goal to appoint him as the NSS head later. Previously, Kutoyan was the Armenian president's aide for legal issues.
The powers of NSS Head Gorik Hakobyan are expiring today. Under the Constitution of Armenia, the head of the NSS can keep his post until he reaches 70. However, ArmInfo's sources say Hakobyan will hardly leave the NSS. A special "vacancy" will be created for him - representative of the Armenian president to the NSS.
