Swiss Ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasser: Switzerland will try to contribute to a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict without questioning the established formats such as the OSCE Minsk process
On July 1 Armenia will be officially authorized to organize the Bologna Process in the next three years, Armenia's Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan said during a meeting with the rectors of Armenian universities on Monday.
The press service of Armenia's Education and Science Ministry quotes Ashotyan as saying that Armenia will be the ninth country to be entrusted to organize the Bologna Process. In fact, Yerevan will become the capital of the European higher education area.
Ashotyan said that the last ministerial meeting in Bucharest outlined the priorities of the European higher education area and suggested forming national groups for implementing the tasks. Ashotyan encouraged the rectors to nominate their candidates for the Armenian group.
He said that the next three years will be crucial for Armenia's higher education system. On Sept 1 2012 the Ministry will toughen control in all universities with a view to improve the quality of higher education in the country.
