The Armenian Government did not set itself a task to limit the import of Turkish goods to Armenia, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan told reporters in Yerevan on May 11.
He said that the Government is taking consistent measures to inspect the quality of imported products on the border.
To recall, in late April 2016, Levon Dokholyan, Armenian lawmaker from the Orinats Yerkir Party, stressed the need to boycott the Turkish goods and to ban the import of any Turkish products to the country. "Despite Turkey's attitude to Armenia, the Turkish goods freely enter the Armenian market today. At the same time, the import of Armenian goods to Turkey is banned. This delivers a blow to not only our national dignity, but also our national security," Dokholyan said in Parliament. He also thinks that Turkey can use chemical weapons against the Armenian population through the Turkish food products.
