Harutyun Zakaryan, the aggrieved party in the Sdghi Gyol case, who lost his eye after being severely beaten by Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan's relatives, is not going to change his initial evidnce, in which he accuses the governor's son Tigran Khachatryan of having beaten him.
Harutyun Zakaryan's father Gagik Zakaryan has told ArmInfo that his sons are not going to change the evidence. "They told the truth and pointed at the culprits. They do not intend to go back on their words. Do we look like the people who change the evidence? All the culprits should be punished with all the rigor of the law," he says.
To note, today the media outlets have disseminated information that the Zakaryans have changed their initial evidence and the Syunik governor's son Tigran Khachatryan may be set free.
To note, according to the evidence seized by the Investigative Committee during the inquiry, on May 2 Tigran Khachatryan inflicted grave bodily injuries to Armenian citizen Harutyun Zakaryan in a scuffle that took place near the Sdghi gyol site in the vicinity of Goris. Harutyun Zakaryan lost his eye. Syunik province governor Suren Khachatryan's brother and nephew have also been arrested despite Khachatryan's statements that his relatives have nothing to do with that incident. Another relative of Suren Khachatryan is wanted.
