Government of Armenia will assume expenses in funeral of the killed in road accident near Tula and treatment of the injured passengers. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan made such statement in the Government on November 5. He said the decision was adopted at a meeting with President Serzh Sargsyan. He recalled that a working group led by the ministers of transport and health traveled to Tula to render direct assistance to the passengers receiving treatment in Tula. The prime minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov. Before convening, the Government observed a minute of silence for the victims of the accident.
To recall, 8 people were killed and 47 injured, as a passenger bus running from Moscow to the Armenian capital of Yerevan overturned on the M4 "Don" highway in Tula Region. One of the injured died at hospital. The bus belonged to an Armenian Company King Deluxe. A criminal case was initiated on the basis of Article 264.5 of the Criminal Code of Russia "violation of traffic rules and improper operation of transport means." The police do not rule out that the driver might have fallen asleep while driving. The driver has been detained.
Meantime, it was reported earlier today that two buses running to Yerevan have been detained in Moscow over technical failures. Two buses were taken to a special bus station over serious technical failures and lack of the necessary license and violation of safety requirements.
