As Parliament Commission for Foreign Affairs again kills bill submitted by MP Zaruhi Postanjyan, the opposition Heritage Party of which Postanjyan is a member disseminates a statement.
In particular, Heritage Party claims that by declining the draft statement of the National Assembly that condemns the Genocide of Pontic Greeks, Assyrians, Yezidis and other religious and national minorities by the Ottoman Empire, the Commission has joined the Armenian Genocide denial policy of the Ottoman Empire's legal successor Turkey.
The genocidal policy of the Ottoman Empire overwhelmingly targeted Armenians, but other national were massacred too, the Party says in the statement.
According to it, adoption of a separate law that looks to commemorate the victims of genocides on 9 December is nothing but formality.
