Armenia will continue its efforts towards enhancing the relations with Great Britain and the EU countries, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian told a joint news conference with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Foreign Minister of Germany and the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, in Yerevan, on June 29 late in the evening.
When commenting on the Brexit, Edward Nalbandian said the result of the referendum was the choice of the British people, and Armenia respects it. "Each country is free to chose the integration project it wants to join," Nalbandian said.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in turn, said the EU will lose more than a member-country, as the threats and challenges the world is facing now requires unity and cooperation. The German minister said he would like to see Britain in the EU, but the British people has made its choice and Germany respects it.
He expressed hope that the 27 countries of the EU will soon develop a road map on further cooperation with Great Britain.
UK voted to leave EU on June 23 with 51.9% of votes.
