"Sputnik", "Eho Moskvy" and "Govorit Moskva" radio stations have broadcast Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview in which he says that Russia stands for the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.
"Moscow will do its utmost for bringing into operation the documents on the Armenian-Turkish relations. We favour the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations, the settlement of the Karabakh conflict which will bring to the normalization of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations", he said.
Lavrov reminded that several years before Russia had upheld Yerevan and Ankara's initiative on launching a document on opening the borders, mutual recognition and cooperation development. He expressed his regret that despite the documents had been signed they had never come into effect.
"Yet we are ready to do everything for it to happen", he said.
Armenia and Turkey signed the "Protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations" and the "Protocol on the development of bilateral relations" in Zurich on October 10. Following Turkey's unwillingness to ratify the protocols and attempts to link ratification with the Karabakh conflict made President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sign a decree on suspension of the procedure of ratification of the Armenian -Turkish protocols
