Foreign Minister Sweden Margot Wallstrom is sure that there is no military solution to the Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
Speaking in a joint press conference with her Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian in Yerevan, Ms. Wallstrom said her delegation better understands the approach of Armenia to the peace process. She urged efforts to prevent escalation of the conflict and find a solution to conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group.
The Swedish minister said that during her visit, an agreement canceling double taxation was signed between Armenia and Sweden, which will boost the bilateral cooperation. She said the Armenia-EU relations were also discussed during her meeting with Minister Nalbandian. The minister hailed the talks over a new legal document. Margot Wallstrom said Sweden will keep insisting on the further implementation of the EU Eastern Partnership Protect and on a differentiated approach to every country involved in the project. The readiness of every country to work on the "more for more" principle will be taken into account, she said.
Edward Nalbandian, in turn, said the meeting was an opportunity to continue the rich dialogue of Armenia and Sweden. In his words, the sides welcome the dynamically developing bilateral relations that have intensified after the opening of the diplomatic office of the two countries in Yerevan and Stockholm. The minister said they had discussed the development of cooperation in the field of trade and economy, education, science, and health sectors, as well as agreed to improve the contractual basis and promote investments.
In this light, the minister stressed the importance of the agreement canceling double taxation of property and incomes that was signed by the two countries.
