Tbilisi. Georgian President, Giorgi Margvelashvili and his
Latvian counterpart, Andris Berzins, termed as 'inadmissible' the Russian
Federation's policy with regards to its neighbor state.
Georgian and Latvian Presidents met in
Tbilisi, on November 26, as part of the Latvian delegation's visit to Georgia.
Latvian delegation, comprising the executive government officials and
representatives of Latvian business circles, arrived in Tbilisi on the eve.
Official part of the visit started with the official reception at Georgian
President's palace, on Wednesday, November 26.
"At the meeting the sides stressed
the importance of strategic cooperation between the two partner states and the
intention to further intensify that cooperation. During the conversation,
Georgian President noted that support of Latvia, as the country that is going
to hold Presidency of the Council of the European Union next year, is of
particular importance for Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration," Georgian
President's Administration reported.
President Margvelashvili thanked his
Latvian colleague for the support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty
of Georgia, as well as for purusing non-recognition policy with regard to Georgia's
breakaway regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region (so-called South Ossetia).
The discussion also focused on the situation in Ukraine and the regional
security issues.
As Georgian President pointed out at the

critical situation, against the background of Russia's annexation of the
occupied Abkhazia - reads the report.

held. Georgia-Latvia cooperation issues were discussed at the meeting. The
sides expressed intention to intensify cooperation in business, trade, tourism,
