The registration of the applications for the Open Game Computer and Mobile Games Championship has started. The organizers of the championship have set themselves a task to develop the gaming industry in Armenia, create a new business environment and train highly-skilled specialists.
The press office of Ucom reports that the contest will be held in 3 rounds during which the participants will present their computer and mobile games and then will develop them with the help of the professional jury. The application form and other details about the championship are available at www.opengame.am. Huawei has been the partner of the championship for 2 years. The prize fund of the contest is 2 mln AMD. There will also be other prizes.
"The annual contest helps reveal the youth with a big potential in the IT sector to assist them in developing their skills and knowledge," UITE CEO Karen Vardanyan says.
"Our company has always attached importance to supporting education of the new generation and has made great contribution to both the development of the IT industry and in the field of children's education. We have established engineering labs in cooperation with UITE in Yerevan, marzes and bordering communities," Ucom CEO Hayk Yesayan says.
To note, Ucom Telecommunications started to provide Internet, IP television and landline digital telephony services through a single broadband connection since 2009. As of June 2015, the company has more than 100,000 subscribers and 800 employees. In 2015 UCom purchased 100% of shares of Orange Armenia and started providing mobile services.
