Spokesperson for the Chief Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia Ruben Grdzelyan told ArmInfo the media rumors about resignation of Artyom Movsisyan, the head of the Department, do not correspondent to reality.
"The story with the German Lufthansa is a blatant lie. No representative of Lufthansa has visited Armenia or met representatives of the Chief Department of the Civil Aviation of Armenia during the recent years," Grdzelyan said.
It has been widely rumored in the press that Movsisyan resigned over a corruption scandal connected with Lufthansa air carrier, Germany, after demanding a big sum for providing the company with a license to operate in the Armenian market. According to Mass Media, the representatives of the airline allegedly complained to the country's leadership and Movsisyan was dismissed. According to another rumors, the new head of the Department will be Sergey Avetisyan, the deputy minister of economy of Armenia.
