Brandy production in Armenia was down 5.6% in Jan-Oct 2014 versus the same period of 2013 to 14,684.9 thousand liters, the National Statistical Service of Armenia told ArmInfo.
The key sales markets of the Armenian brandy are Russia and the CIS.
Wines production was down 8.5% to 4,313.9 thousand liters. Champagne wines production grew 5% to 282.3 thousand liters. Vodka and liqueur production fell 6.6% to 7,365.0 thousand liters. Beer production was up 30,2% to 22,093.3 thousand liters for the period under review.
Earlier chairman of the Union of Armenian Wine Makers, Avag Harutyunyan, said devaluation of the Russian ruble may result in falling of the Armenian brandy export to Russia by 30% in 2014.
