Tbilisi. Hungary has ratified the Associated Agreements of the European Union (EU) with Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, the Georgian Foreign Ministry's press- service reports on Tuesday, December 9.
The ratified agreements have already come into effect as the corresponding document was signed by President of Hungary Janos Ader.
"These agreements are a new stage in our relations and reflect our readiness to develop close relations, based on common values. We are sure, that implementation of the Associated Agreements will help our partners on their European path and will promote national consolidation, social unity and maintaining of these countries' sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence", Georgian MFA cites the Hungarian party's statement.
Georgian signed the Associated Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement on June 27 in Brussels. It is to be ratified by the European Parliament and parliament of EU member-states to enter into effect. Legislative bodies of Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia, Malta, Estonia, Hungary and Sweden have already ratified it. The Georgian Parliament ratified the Associated Agreement with the EU on July 18.
