Levon Zurabyan, Head of the opposition Armenian National Congress Faction, has told journalists some details of yesterday's quarrel with Samvel Farmanyan, member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
Zurabyan said that it is very bad that the RPA member immediately ran to the journalists and told them the Nov 13 incident but in quite the opposite form. Zurabyan added that the public knows how to qualify Farmanyan's behavior.
"But I understand his mental condition because he had to get acquainted with my leg a little bit closely beyond his will. I am an unbiased man and since I was present at the incident I should condemn the behavior of my leg and I hope that it will never go to extremes again", he said.
Earlier Samvel Farmanyan said that he and Levon Zurabyan had a dispute that degenerated into a quarrel in the parliament on Thursday. "I gave Zurabyan a slap in the face as a form of discipline," Farmanyan said. He told "Hraparak" that Zurabyan interrupted his talk with Ruben Hakobyan, the Head of the Heritage Party Faction, who is the author of amendments to the Election Code, in the foyer. "At that moment Zurabyan addressed me using obscene words, which they probably use in their family. It was then that I gave him a slap in the face as a form of discipline. I am sure, in such situation any Armenian man would act the way I did," Farmanyan told the newspaper.
