The representatives of the Yazidi community of Armenia have handed a letter to the Armenian President's Administration and the Prosecutor General's Office, requesting them to release Yazidi businessman, philanthropist Jndi Amaryan.
Rustam Bakoyan, representative of the Yazidi community, says that the businessman has been arrested illegally. "We do not trust the government machine. We pin our only hope on President Serzh Sargsyan, who may influence a fair settlement of the problem," he says.
The father of Kyaram Sloyan, the serviceman decapitated by Azeris during the April escalation, also took part in the action of protest to support Amaryan.
To recall, Jndi Amaryan was detained on April 2 on suspicion of blackmailing. The demonstrators say that Amaryan was detained during his mother's funeral.
