In Baku they do not understand the delicate nature of statements by the OSCE MG co-chairs, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, said in a joint press conference with his Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkevics, on 12 December, when commenting on Azerbaijani defense minister's statements that Azerbaijan is ready to start war.
"Maybe, it was Baku's response to the statements the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs made on the Nagorny-Karabakh peace process at the OSCE Ministerial in Basel," Nalbandian said. In this light, he recalled that the mediators said in their speech that there is no military solution to the conflict and urged the parties to observe the ceasefire of 1994, work towards peaceful resolution of the conflict etc.
"Now, after the new statement by the Azerbaijani defense minister and the recent upsurge of tension on the Line of Contact, one can see that in Baku they do not understand the language of diplomacy. I think, the Co-Chairs should draw relevant conclusions from all that," Nalbandian said.
Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov said on 11 December that Azerbaijan is ready to restore 'its territorial integrity' by force.
