The Armenian police have detained two citizens suspected of more than 30 home burglaries.
The press office of the Police reports that on June 13 resident of Ararat province Shahen Gasparyan, 24, and resident of Shirak province Nikolay Harutyunyan, 30, were taken to the Arabkir Department of Police. The detainees are suspected of nearly 30 burglaries in Yerevan and provinces of the republic. The vehicles, by which the detainees were going to leave the country, were also taken to the police department. The law enforcers found a knife, a mask, gold articles, mobile telephones, watches, a photo camera, Ukrainian money in the vehicles. The police also found expensive souvenirs, a knife, and a gun in the house of one of Gasparyan's relatives.
The law enforcement structures of Armenia are taking measures to find out all circumstances of the burglaries. A criminal case has been instituted and the investigation is underway.
To note, according to media reports, the matter concerns the persons who are suspected of having robbed the houses of large businessman Barsegh Beglaryan and head of the opposition Armenian National Congress faction Levon Zurabyan.
It was previously reported that on June 7 night the criminals robbed Beglaryan's mansion and lawmaker Levon Zurabyan's apartment.
