VTB Bank (Armenia) has registered 1.5-fold growth in the card-to-card transfers via ATMs within the framework of the second joint campaign with Visa as compared to the first campaign. The press office of the Bank has told ArmInfo that the second campaign was held from April 1 to May 31, 2015.
The campaign enabled all the Visa cardholders of VTB Bank (Armenia) to make 3 free transfers from any VISA card of VTB Bank (Armenia) to a VISA card of VTB or any other local bank via the 157 ATMs of VTB Bank (Armenia). The card-to-card transfers are made round the clock and the remitted amount reaches the recipient within seconds. The customers can also make the transfers on the Bank's days off. The funds can be remitted in AMD, RUR, USD and EUR. Similar transfers can be made to the VTB cards from the cards issued by other banks of Armenia, the CIS and Georgia.
Upon expiry of the campaign, the card-to-card transfer fee via the ATMs of VTB Bank (Armenia) ranges within 0.2%-1.5% depending on the card type.
The source also reports that to make a card-to-card transfer via the ATMs of VTB Bank (Armenia) the customers are to choose in the menu "Transfers to banks of RA" or "Transfers to VTB cards"; insert the recipient's card number; choose the transfer currency; insert the amount to be transferred, and confirm the operation. According to the Analytical Review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), VTB Bank (Armenia) retains leadership in terms of active cards. As of 1 April 2015, the number of its active cards totaled more than 401 thsd (24% y-o-y growth), including almost 385 thsd Visa cards (including over 88 thsd pension cards). The Bank became a member of MasterCard almost 2 years ago and issued over 16 thsd MasterCards by April 2015, joining the top ten. The Bank was in the lead by the amount of plastic transactions - over 186 bln AMD over 2014 (33% y-o-y growth). As of 1 April 2015, the Bank had 298 POS-terminals and 157 ATMs. Before 2013 the Bank issued and served Visa international cards. In September 2013, it became a principal member of MasterCard and started issuing and serving Cirrus/Maestro, MasterCard Standard and MasterCard Gold cards. Along with it, the Bank serves ArCa local cards and has its own processing center.
