Azerbaijan goes on firing at the site of the downed helicopter, as it scares investigation of the incident, the results of which are known in advance, the former defense minister of Armenia, Vagarshak Harutyunyan, told ArmInfo correspondent.
'We need the investigation in details, and the OSCE MG co-chairmen and personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, study the situation. We are obliged to adequately react at the incident", - he said.
He thinks that at present the Armenian diplomacy should demonstrate professionalism and should mobilize all their resources so that to prove to the world community the falsehood of the Baku propaganda and the destructive position of Azerbaijan.
'By all means, Azerbaijan has been trying to present the story in such a context, that allegedly the helicopters of the NKR Defense Army attacked its borders. For this reason, they were forced to reply. At present, they have been working in this direction and have been trying not to let us to the fragments of the helicopter, as opening of the "black boxes" may reveal much. However, it is clear to everybody that the pilots were not kamikaze and would not attack the positions of the enemy during the training flight", - Harutyunyan said.
To recall, the Azerbaijani armed forces downed an Armenian Mi-24 while it was conducting a training flight near the Line on Contact on 12 November. Three officers of the NKR Armed Forces, Sergey Sahakyan, Sargis Nazaryan and Azat Sahakyan, were on board. The NKR State Committee for POWs, Captives and the Missing has requested the ICRC assistance in returning the crewmembers of the downed helicopter. The Azeri officer that shot the helicopter down has been awarded a medal.
