Spokesperson of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Hovhanness Papikyan has refused to comment on the statements of Levon Zurabyan, the head of the Armenian National
Congress faction in the Parliament, who claimed that Constitutional Court Chairman Gagik Haroutiunyan tried to bribe the Venice Commission to get a positive resolution on the draft Constitutional amendments.
"I will not comment or respond to Zurabyan's marasmic statements," he said. According to Papikyan, the Police can use Zurabyan's statements against him.
Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has submitted media reports wherein Zurabyan blames Haroutiunyan for an attempt to bribe the Venice Commission to the Police Department for the Fight against Organized Crime for consideration.
ANC Faction Head Levon Zurabyan said at a briefing in Parliament on October 9 that Gagik Harutyunyan, Head of the Constitutional Court of Armenia and head of the Special Commission for Constitutional Reforms, tried to bribe the Venice Commission and the Armenian National Congress (ANC) has the relevant evidence.
