The Armenian police have no intention "to break" the youth in Baghramyan Ave, Armenian Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan said in Baghramyan Ave on June 30.
He said that the youth are the driving force of the society. So, the authorities and the police understand the youth. In this light, he pointed out that the activists are the future of Armenia, so that future can be neither killed nor broken.
For his part, Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan urged the protesters to leave Baghramyan Ave and go home, however, the activists refused to do that. Osipyan found metal rods under the garbage cans, however, the activists said they were using these rods to hold the posters. Osipyan demanded removing the metal rods from the site.
To note, on June 29 the "No to Plunder!" initiative announced its intention to stop the sit-in in Liberty Square. Max Sargsyan, a member of the initiative, told journalists that the activists decided to leave the square and that they would announce their further steps during a press conference on June 30.
