Armenia as before is committed to the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian said at the opening ceremony of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly 89th Rose-Roth Seminar in Yerevan, on June 18.
He said to settle the Karbakh conflict the OSCE Minsk Group needs a real and not formal support, as it is the only conflict on which Russia, U.S., and France have a common stand. "Armenia's stand is in harmony with that of the world community and the OSCE Minsk Group too," he said. The minister said the Armenian parties accept the MG's proposals and are committed to the peaceful settlement of the conflict and support confidence-building measures, unlike Azerbaijan that constantly fuels tensions.
The Armenian minister blamed Baku for non-constructive policy and regular breaches of the ceasefire. He said the situation on the borders has been relatively calm lately. Many experts explain this with the ongoing European Games in Baku. Yet, there are all indications are that Azerbaijan has not abandoned its policy of provocations.
"We do not turn the world community against Azerbaijan. Quite the contrary, we urge the world community to show real not formal support to the OSCE MG," the minister said urging international organizations to refrain from passing resolutions or documents that may impede the peace process.
