Ex-foreign minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanian has decided to leave the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) because the Party has failed to turn the Armenian society's wishes into reality through radical changes and to put the country on the correct and healthy path of development.
In his statement, Oskanian says that he stops his activities in the PAP, perfectly realizing his share of responsibility for the party failure. He also advises all those gloating over the PAP situation to look at the ongoing political developments in the country. He thinks that the problem is not the PAP but the methods applied against the Party and its leader. First and foremost, violent, discriminative and unconstitutional power levers deliver a serious blow on the country's international image. Besides, these methods have killed the people's hope for radical changes, Oskanian says.
He also congratulates Naira Zohrabyan on her becoming the PAP chairwoman. He thinks that the PAP Political Council has made a correct decision. The Party has a serious and loyal political team, which Oskanian hopes will continue the fight against the political monopoly in the country and the fight for recovery of the political atmosphere.
