Armenia's decision to join the
Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union comes from its economic and
strategic interests, Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said at the
5th Armenia-Diaspora Forum on Saturday.
He said that the Supreme Eurasian Council has already
approved the agreement for Armenia's joining the Eurasian Economic Union. "So,
we will do it shortly," Nalbandyan said.
On the other hand, Armenia is actively working to
develop its cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership
program.
"We are consistently deepening our involvement in
international process and the work of international organizations and are
seeking to improve our image in the world," Nalbandyan said.
He said that Armenia is actively deepening its
strategic partnership with Russia, friendly relations with the United States
and good- neighbor ties with Georgia and Iran.
"The world community supports our commitment to
establish relations with Turkey without preconditions," the Armenian FM
said.
He noted that the top priority of Armenia's diplomacy
is to develop its economic, cultural and humanitarian ties and to protect the
interests of Armenians worldwide.
