Zaruhi Postanjyan, an MP from the Heritage Party, is sure that the latest statement that Valery Permyakov's case was transferred to the Armenian law-enforcement was a bluff that pursued a goal to overshadow the protests in Baghramyan Avenue.
Talking to reporters on July 1, Postanjyan said Armenia must demand that Permyakov is transferred to Armenia and stands trial in Armenia. Otherwise, no justice is possible, the parliamentarian said.
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said after a meeting with Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov in Yerevan, on June 26 that the Permyakov case (the Russian soldier who stands accused of the family murder) was transferred to Armenia, saying it meets the Armenian-Russian Agreement on the status of the Russian Military Base in Armenia and meets the allied and fraternal relationships of the two countries.
