Armenia jointly with the Co-Chairs of OSCE Minsk Group will continue efforts aimed at exclusively peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and a meeting with OSCE MG Co-Chairs will take place in the next few days, Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian announced at a press conference in Yerevan on February 2.
Armenian Minister stated with regret that recently the Co-Chairs, Armenia and international community make more efforts aimed at not allowing Azerbaijan to fail the negotiation process rather than at reaching progress in the negotiation process. He reminded during last year Minsk Co-Chairs made a number of statements, in which they urged the sides to refrain from actions, which may harm the negotiation process. However, taking into account that Baku ignored these calls, Co Chairs had to make statements addressed to Azerbaijan, in which they particularly called Azerbaijan to create mechanisms for investigation of incidents on the Line of Contact of the troops, respect the ceasefire agreement and refrain from using heavy-gun armaments.
Armenian minister is sure that measures to curb Baku's deconstructive position should be taken.
At the same time answering to the question about the necessity to involve Nagorno-Karabakh in the negotiation process on Karabakh settlement, Nalbandian noted that if Azerbaijan continues to uphold deconstructive position it will be difficult to do that, as well as to reach progress in negotiation process.
"The Co Chairs have multiple times stated about necessity of Nagorno-Karabakh's participation in the negotiation process on settlement and not only on the final stage but in all the stages and in different formats for negotiations", the Minister summarized.
