Police have searched the house of Alek Yenigomshyan, a member of the Founding Parliament opposition initiative who was detained by Police for supporting "Daredevils of Sasoun" - the armed loyalists of jailed oppositionist Jirayr Sefilyan - who seized the Police Patrol Service Regiment on July 17 demanding the president's resignation and release of Sefilyan.
According to the Founding Parliament's statement received by ArmInfo, the Police subjected to detention Vahram Petrosyan, a supporter of the Founding Parliament who transported by his personal car the equipment from the opposition rally held in the Northern Avenue earlier.
To recall, Alek Yenigomshyan was detained by the National Security Service of Armenia on July 27 under the criminal case on the seizure of the Police Patrol Service Regiment in Yerevan on suspicion of supporting the armed group (Article 38-219 part 3 point 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia).
"The detainee used the service of the lawyer he chose personally. Considering his disability and to let him exercise his rights, a visual impairment specialist has been invited," the National Security Service reported earlier.
Meantime, Yenigomshyan's lawyer, Nikolay Baghdasaryan, told ArmInfo his client's rights are infringed in custody, since he is disabled and cannot even eat without help. He needed a specialized cell or at least the assistance of the law-enforcers. Meantime, the lawyer said, Yenigomshyan is in an ordinary cell and receives no assistance he needs, which is violation of international norms and can be qualified as torture. Nevertheless, the lawyer said, his client's spirit in not broken
